Thomas Bailey, born in Dudley, England, and his wife, Rosa, born in Birmingham, England, lived in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio in 1850 with 2 daughters, Rosa F., born about 1839 and Charlotte E., born about 1842, in England.
Charlotte married R. S. (Robert) Williams on 3 July 1858 in Campbell Co., KY. She and Robert had 2 known children, David, born 1859 and Rosa born 29 June or July 1862. Charlotte died at the home of her parents in Campbell County, Kentucky on 25 June 1873.
Robert began publishing by 1852, when he began a newspaper called Kentucky Star. Further searches find that Robert was for a time, the publisher of Bracken County Chronicle and later the city editor for the Louisville Courier-Journal. By late 1873, he had returned to Covington and became an editor for the Covington Journal.
R.S. Williams is shown as an editor, in 1880, with daughter, Rose (sic), age 18 and also in his home are his widowed mother and his single sister.
Robert, a Colonel in the Confederate Army, died on 14 February 1898, at the age of 64, in Covington, Kenton, Kentucky, with the funeral taking place at the home of Rosa and Dr. J. T. Wallingford on 16 February 1898 with burial at Mentor. Services were conducted by Rev. J. D. Blackburn and Rev. C. G. Jones.
I have also learned that Rosa, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte, married in Covington, Kenton, KY on 16 October 1883, Dr John T. Wallingford. John and Rosa Wallingford had 3 known children, one of whom was stillborn on 25 January 1885. This child is buried at the Linden Grove Cemetery in Kenton Co., KY. The interment record for this baby remarks that the burial site is the same as that of David Williams who died in 1860. There is an interment record for a David Williams, dated 18 October 1860 at Linden Grove. (No other information is shown.) The other 2 children were: Robert Montgomery Wallingford and Thomas Eugene Wallingford.
John died on or before 6 March 1926 in Brentwood Heights, Los Angeles, CA.
Thomas Bailey, the immigrant, was a photographer in 1880 when they lived in Carthage, Campbell, KY. Rosa outlived Thomas, but in the 1900 census, she is shown as having had no children. She immigrated to America in 1848, per this census record.
Thomas and Rosa are buried at the Grandview Cemetery, Mentor, Campbell, KY.
